Ivan Blomqvist
As a composer, pianist and producer, Ivan Blomqvist creates music that moves between acoustic piano, electronics and atmospheric sound worlds. His work is shaped by a focus on timbre, space and emotional nuance, often balancing structure and improvisation in a cinematic and intimate expression.
Originally from Sweden, he moved to Norway to study at the Trondheim Music Conservatory, where he graduated in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in jazz piano.
He is currently based in Oslo. In recent years, Ivan has focused on his own artistic practice alongside selected collaborations, working across concert music, studio projects and interdisciplinary contexts.
His music has been performed and developed in collaboration with a range of Scandinavian artists, and he received a Norwegian Grammy nomination with the group Rohey (2017).
